I am a certified personal trainer and have been offering lifestyle and weight management for more than 20 years. I specialize in helping clients get fit and avoid steps that lead to obesity and keeping non-obese clients fit. After comprehensive health and fitness evaluations, clients receive ONE-ON-ONE coaching tailored to their individual needs and limitations. My private-gym fitness training is supplemented by fun group outings. These aim to find activities the client can PASSIONATELY pursue in their daily life. Nutrition planning steers clients toward PRODUCTIVE eating to power their lifestyle.

When my kids were younger, I didn’t have to think about my health. I planned healthy meals for the kids and spent my free time running them all over town or taking them on walks and hikes. Once they hit high school, they did all that stuff for themselves. I gained a lot of weight. Just before my 50th birthday, I knew I needed a change.

Working with Sheila made fitness fun. She helped me set goals and celebrated my victories like they were her own. She taught me how to be kind to myself; I think that’s something that a lot of middle-aged women struggle with. Every session was educational and challenging. Even though I’m a physician, I learned so much about exercise from Sheila. I’ve had bad ankles my whole life, so Sheila built my exercise plans around biking.

I lost 60 lbs. in eight months with Sheila, and I’ve kept most of it off in the years since by keeping up my schedule with her. Daily activities that I used to struggle through are a breeze now. I found out I love biking, and I bike weekly with friends now. I recovered from two ankle replacements and two broken bones much easier because of Sheila, gaining back a full range of motion each time.
